HYORAN DALMOROH converted a 100th-minute penalty as Atletico Mineiro kept alive their Brazilian Serie A title hopes with a 2-2 draw at Bragantino Monday. Dalmoro sent goalkeeper Cleiton Schwengber the wrong way with the last kick of the match after Sevilla loanee Guilherme Arana was brought down by Eric Ramirez. Ricardo Ryller had opened the scoring for the hosts by nodding home a Helinho cross at the far post on the stroke of half-time. Jefferson Savarinho equalized just after the interval when his sliding close-range effort left Schwengber with no chance. The hosts regained their advantage in the 67th minute through Edimar Fraga, who headed in after a Claudinho corner. But referee Caio Vieira pointed to the spot after deliberating with the video assistant referee and Dalmoro held his nerve to secure his team a valuable point. The result leaves Atletico in third place, just six points behind leaders Sao Paulo with a game in hand. Bragantino are 13th, six points clear of the relegation zone. (Xinhua) |
