Policy extension THE validity period of Shenzhen’s measures on promoting new energy vehicles (NEVs) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic will be extended to June 30, 2021, according to a notice issued by the city’s development and reform commission. Within the validity period of the measures, the Shenzhen Road Traffic Management Center will continue to implement the preferential policy for roadside parking of NEVs, the notice said. NEVs meeting the conditions of the roadside parking policy are exempt from the parking fees for the first two hours per day. If the first parking time is less than one hour (including one hour) on the day, the second parking is free of one-hour temporary parking fees. Lunch on campus SHENZHEN currently has 705 schools of compulsory education that provide lunch and lunch break services for 502,000 students, which make up 96 percent of the total schools in the city, DT News reported. In July 2018, Shenzhen issued guidelines on further strengthening the management of lunch breaks for students in compulsory education, which is the first lunch break policy for students introduced by a local government in China. Train parking lot THE construction of the Chiwan parking lot of Metro line 12 is in full swing. Upon completion, the parking lot covering an area equivalent to 34 football fields can park 40 trains, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported. The project is reported to be the largest Metro train parking lot under construction in Shenzhen. It is planned to be completed in 2022 and will undertake the parking and train inspection work of some trains of Metro line 12. Meanwhile, the Metro line 12 project is also progressing steadily. The line is scheduled to be put into trial operation in 2022. Recruitment activity SHENZHEN took second place among major Chinese cities in the rankings of enterprise recruitment activity and the most popular job-seeking cities in the fourth quarter of 2020, according to data from 58.com, a Chinese online classified marketplace. Shenzhen paid an average monthly salary of 9,057 yuan (US$1,398) in the fourth quarter of last year, ranking third in the country.
