Wang Jingli wangjingli0715@163.com THE Longgang District Government and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-SZ) inked a deal Friday to jointly build the affiliated school of CUHK-SZ in Longgang. The signing marked enhanced cooperation of the two sides in the field of basic education. Xu Yangsheng, president of CUHK-SZ, said that the cooperation is of significance to the university, adding that CUHK-SZ is willing to take on more social responsibility to help solve the shortage of spaces for school students in the city. At the same time, Longgang District Government held a ceremony Friday to launch the project to build Longgang into an international education demonstration zone in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The district government has released a work plan including 20 measures in a bid to introduce more international education projects, build a comprehensive education system, and let more students receive qualified international education “on their doorstep” in the next five years, said Huang Huibo, deputy head of Longgang District, at the ceremony Friday. Meanwhile, it is reported that the Municipal Education Bureau will give full support to help Longgang District cooperate with two universities in the area, specifically CUHK-SZ and Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, in fields such as international curriculum construction, international education exchange, teacher training and think tank construction. |
