SHENZHEN Software Park ranked first out of 44 software and industrial parks in the 2020 China Torch Software Industrial Bases List, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Saturday.

The evaluation was conducted by the Torch Center under the Ministry of Science and Technology based on the 2019 statistics of 44 Chinese Torch Software Industrial Bases and the development of each software base that year.

In addition to winning first place in the comprehensive ranking, Shenzhen Software Park is number one on three lists, namely the scale of industrial development, level of industrial development and growth rate.

The Torch Center commented that Shenzhen Software Park possesses a large industrial development scale, high level of software revenue and enterprise profitability, and famed high-tech giants. The enterprises in the park have made significant investments in scientific and technological research and development. The park’s software revenue, employees, enterprise scale, profit and tax have maintained rapid growth.

The 2019 evaluation indicated that Shenzhen Software Park ranked first in growth rate and three secondary indexes, and seventh in one index. The number of software employees and the scale of software enterprises grew rapidly. Meanwhile, the park’s profits and taxes saw a significant rise, up over 177 percent year on year.

According to the statistics, in 2019, the total number of registered enterprises at Shenzhen Software Park is 1,724 with 1,302 high-tech companies and an increase of 59.63 percent year on year. The whole park has 256,200 employees.

The park’s 2019 total revenue is 1.42 trillion yuan (US$219 billion), up by 239.91 percent year on year, including software revenue of 626.3 billion yuan, up by 135 percent year on year. The total revenue consists of the following parts: a software product revenue of 78.76 billion yuan (including a new product revenue of 33.93 billion yuan), a system integration revenue of 86.87 billion yuan, an embedded system software revenue of 166.46 billion yuan, and a software technology services revenue of 294.2 billion yuan.
