Deputies to file motions at annual session
    2021-03-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

TEN deputies from Shenzhen joining the Guangdong delegation arrived in Beijing for the 4th session of the 13th National People’s Congress that is scheduled to open Friday.

These lawmakers will present their motions at the annual session and most of these are closely related to science and technology, according to a Shenzhen Economic Daily report.

Deputy Liu Ruopeng, head of Shenzhen Kuang Chi Institute of Advanced Technology, recently has done research on several State-level key labs, which are under construction in Shenzhen.

He thinks Shenzhen should speed up construction of major science platforms and carriers if it wants to be a capital of innovation with global influence. Liu will put forward suggestions on innovation and reform development of State-level laboratories and cultivation of talent.

Yang Feifei, an employee with Foxconn’s Precision Machinery Business Group, will file a motion on enhancing training among industrial workers and breaking career path barriers as they are the major driving force of the manufacturing industry.

These workers will then play an important role to the manufacturing industry and the real economy, according to Yang.

Facing the new changes in the domestic and international situation and under the restructuring of global supply chain and industrial chain, Fan Qingfeng, vice president of Shenzhen High Tech Investment Group Corp., suggests financial and policy support to ensure stability and safety of the supply and industrial chain.

Fan said he would put forward proposals on application of big data into inclusive financial systems.

Michael Tien Puk-sun, a deputy from Hong Kong, suggests reconstruction of Lo Wu Checkpoint and extension of the East Rail of Hong Kong MTR northward on the Shenzhen side for the convenience of cross-border exchange, according to a report in Hong Kong Commercial Daily.

Tien suggests Alipay and WeChat operators accept Hong Kong IDs, Hong Kong telephone numbers and Hong Kong bank accounts when Hong Kong people open accounts on the mainland.

He also hopes that Central authorities will approve use of Octopus cards in mainland’s public transportation system.
