Exhibition focuses on women scientists
    2021-03-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

On the occasion of International Women’s Day and the 2021 Francophonie Festival, an exhibition entitled “Women Scientists in History” that pays tribute to great Chinese and international women scientists, both past and present, was inaugurated last Friday night at the MixC Shenzhen Bay and will run until March 21.

The same exhibition will be held at the Shenzhen Book City’s Nanshan Store from March 20 to 30. Entry is free.

“Mathematicians, physicists, chemists, biologists, astronomers ... many women scientists have contributed to the history of science and engineering. From Marie Curie and Emmanuelle Charpentier from France, to Huang Daopo and Tu Youyou from China and more contemporary Swiss, Belgian and Canadian researchers, the exhibition highlights their passion, courage, perseverance and humility for their research,” said Siv Leng Chhuor, Consul General of France to Guangzhou, at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition is composed of a total of 31 posters, each illustrated by a photograph and a brief biography that retraces the distinguished career of each woman scientist. The exhibition will allow you to learn about successful women working in the field of science in French-speaking countries and in China.
