New expressway to link SZ, Huizhou
    2021-03-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

PHASE I of Huiyang-Pingdi Expressway, a new expressway, is planned to connect the  Huizhou airport with Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway in Longgang District, and will link up with the Guangzhou-Huizhou Expressway.

Phase I of the expressway project, extending 48.5 kilometers, will be designed with a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour. It will have five interchanges linking up with five other expressways, nine interchanges linking up with trunk roads and highways, and two complex overpasses, according to a draft released by the Huizhou Municipal Transport Bureau on Monday to seek public suggestions.

Huiyang-Pingdi Expressway will consist of a mainline and two branch lines. It will have a 6.4-kilometer branch line to link up with the Huizhou airport and an 8.4-kilometer branch line to link up with Xinxu Township in Huiyang District, Huizhou City.

Phase II of the expressway project will be 6.1 kilometers long, all in Longgang District, starting at the Shenzhen end of Phase I and ending at an interchange near Shenzhen East Environmental Protection Power Plant in Pingdi Subdistrict, Longgang District. From there, the expressway will be connected with Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway.
