New major discoveries at Sanxingdui Ruins announced
    2021-03-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A broken gold mask unearthed from a “sacrificial pit” at the Sanxingdui Ruins site in Guanghan, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. Six “sacrificial pits,” dating back 3,200 to 4,000 years, were newly discovered in the site, as per a news conference Saturday. Over 500 artifacts, including gold masks, bronzewares, ivories, jades and textiles, were unearthed from the site. The Sanxingdui Ruins site, first found in 1929, is generally considered one of most important archaeological finds of the 20th century.
