Concerts to feature famous movie, TV show scores

Several domestic groups will play movie and TV show scores at various venues in town. Tickets can be purchased on the “猫眼” (“maoyan”) WeChat miniprogram.

Beijing Philharmonic Orchestra

The program will include scores from “La La Land,” “Titanic,” “Ghost,” “The Legend of 1900,” “Gone With the Wind” and other famous Hollywood movies.

Time: 8 p.m., March 27, April 24

Tickets: 180-480 yuan

The program will include scores from Japanese animations such as “Attack by Titan,” “Digimon,” “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day,” “Slam Dunk” and “One Piece.”

The program will include scores from classic movies and TV shows such as “La La Land,” “Scent of a Woman,” “Schindler’s List,” “Cinema Paradiso,” “The Lion King” and “Game of Thrones.”

Firefly Orchestra

The program will include Joe Hisaishi’s scores from Hayao Miyazaki’s animated movies. Hisaishi has been associated with Miyazaki since 1984, having composed scores for all but one of his films. While possessing a stylistically distinct sound, Hisaishi’s music is known for exploring and incorporating different genres, including minimalist, experimental electronic, European classical and Japanese classical.
