‘Cry Macho’ gets release date
    2021-03-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Clint Eastwood’s latest directorial feature, “Cry Macho,” has been given a release date of October 22.

Based on the 1970 novel of the same name, “Cry Macho” will see the Oscar winner play a washed-up rodeo star that takes a job from his former boss to bring the man’s young son back to Texas from rural Mexico.

The movie, which finished production in New Mexico in December, reteams Eastwood with Warner Bros., the studio behind his last feature, 2019’s “Richard Jewell.”

Late last year, the studio announced day-and-date releases for its 17-film 2021 feature slate, with films hitting the studio’s sister streaming service, HBO Max, for a one-month window that starts the same day they will be available in U.S. theaters. “Cry Macho” will be included in this plan, receiving a dual streaming and theatrical release.

Other films currently slated for an October 22 release are Focus Features’ “Last Night in Soho” and Paramount’s G.I. Joe movie “Snake Eyes.”
