裂开
    2021-04-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Meaning:

Literally this term means “split in half.” Coined by an online game anchor and popularized by another, this term is used by Chinese netizens to mean “shocked,” “embarrassed” or “extremely amused,” depending on the context. WeChat added six new emojis at the end of last year, including one for this term. Their official English translation for the emoji is “broken.”

Example:

I was shocked to see a message posted by one of my clients on WeChat Moments yesterday.

Zěnme huí shì?

What’s up?

He chose the design I was least proud of, and posted it on WeChat.
