    2021-04-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE city’s transportation terminals handled a total of 2.02 million journeys, or 673,400 itineraries per day on average, during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, up by 1.73 times over the same period of last year, statistics from the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau showed.

Road transportation operators handled 124,000 passenger trips, while ferry services saw 51,000 passenger trips, and flights and railway stations served 378,300 trips and 1.46 million trips, respectively.

Railway service remains the first choice for travelers as traffic took up 70 percent of the total number of travelers. The air passenger traffic returned to 92 percent of the level during the same period in 2019.

A report on ctrip.com showed the booking of Qingming holiday tickets has increased by double digits when compared with the reservations made in 2019. The hotel bookings also increased by 20 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, visits to the city’s parks during the Qingming Festival holiday reached over 2.69 million. The average daily number of visitors to the parks was 899,300, said the city’s urban management authority.

Specifically, hitting a visitor count of 349,300, Shenzhen Bay Park saw the highest flow of guests, followed by OH Bay with 282,200 visits and Lianhua Hill Park with 190,900 visits.

Other popular parks include Guangming Hongqiao Park and Yangtai Mountain Forest Park, which saw 101,000 and 74,000 visitors, respectively.
