SHENZHEN topped the list of most popular cities for people to move to and find a job in China, followed by Beijing and Chengdu. In this year’s first quarter (Q1), the average monthly salary offered by employers in the city was 9,195 yuan (US$1,405), according to a report released by 58.com Tuesday. Based on the report, companies’ recruitment demands in Q1 this year grew by 8.44 percent when compared to Q4 last year. Meanwhile, the amount of resumes submissions went up by 6.77 percent since the previous quarter. The most active cities for corporate recruitment include Dongguan, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai, Zhengzhou and Xi’an. Shenzhen ranked fourth for job vacancies. Compared to Q4 last year, the country’s average salary went up by 2.78 percent in Q1, reaching 8,491 yuan per month. Shanghai ranked first in terms of salary level, which was 10,181 yuan per month. Following on the list of cities with the top average monthly salaries was Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing, which were 9,369, 9,195 and 9,066 yuan, respectively, according to the report.
