Meaning:

“鹅” means “goose,” and “厂” means “factory.” Literally meaning “a goose farm,” this term, however, is used by Chinese netizens as a nickname for tech giant Tencent. The nickname comes from the company’s QQ Penguin (企鹅；qǐ’é), the adorable brand mascot behind Tencent QQ. The instant messaging platform for PC and mobile devices has grown to be one of China’s biggest social platforms among young users, and it was the company’s first business.
