TWO concerts were presented at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-SZ) in Longgang District last weekend.

The two free concerts for both students and residents were part of Longgang’s special programs designed for the benefit of the school and the greater community.

The Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) and the folk orchestra of the Nanshan Experimental Educational Group also performed along with CUHK-SZ’s three orchestras.

They performed works of classic Chinese songs such as “I Love You China” and “Tea Picking Dance”as well as Chinese pop music including “Blue and White Porcelain” by Jay Chou and Pu Shu’s “The Ordinary Road,” giving audiences of different ages a chance to relate their diverse feelings to the music.

Additionally, the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society built the AR stage to enhance the audience’s overall experience.

At the end of the Sunday concert, CUHK-SZ signed a cooperative agreement with SZSO, under which professional artists with SZSO will be invited to exchange with CUHK-SZ students while the university helps spread SZSO’s brilliant music works. The agreement is also designed to be a new model for collaboration between universities and professional orchestras.
