Business council seeks cooperation
    2021-04-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DELEGATION headed by Elizabeth Shieh, principal commercial officer of the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou, visited the Shenzhen Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Shenzhen) on Tuesday to promote international exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and U.S. enterprises.

At the meeting with Tang Jin, vice chairwoman of CCPIT Shenzhen, the two sides also discussed projects that will be developed in the near future.

With the COVID-19 situation being gradually brought under control, the consulate is strengthening cooperation and exchanges with Shenzhen.

Tang recommended Shenzhen Brand Names Exhibition, hoping that U.S. enterprises will seek more business opportunities and partners through the exhibition. The two sides agreed to develop cooperation under the U.S.-China Commercial Matchmaking Program (CMP), which was jointly launched by CCPIT and the U.S. Commerce Department in 2005.

CMP now has offices in 18 cities in China and has completed 500 projects. The program has played an important role in promoting exchanges between Chinese and U.S. enterprises.

CMP Shenzhen Office was set up at CCPIT Shenzhen, providing business opportunities and partnership between enterprises of the two countries. The office provides business information and matchmaking for Shenzhen enterprises that intend to import or act as an agent for U.S. goods and services. It also helps Shenzhen enterprises invest in U.S. industries like energy, environmental protection and automobiles. (Han Ximin)
