ZANILIA ZHAO and William Feng’s story has been full of surprises. The two Chinese film stars never confirmed the gossips about their romance but announced on Zhao’s birthday on Oct. 16, 2018 that they were married.

They confirmed Zhao’s pregnancy on New Year’s Day 2019 and welcomed a baby boy March 8 that year.

On Friday, the two suddenly announced their divorce.

“After careful deliberation, Ms. Zhao and Mr. Feng have decided to break up amicably and end their marriage. They have completed the corresponding paperwork in recent days,” the ex-couple announced in a statement. They will raise their son together and “try to be good parents,” it said.

The statement said that the two got together through work, but also drifted apart because of work, which has kept them busy and allowed them little time together.

The two met on the set of “Monkey King 3” in 2016. Feng had dated actresses Ni Ni and Lin Yun before falling for Zhao.

With their official announcement, Feng posted on social media that “The days are long. The past has been great. Hoping the future will be even better” and tagged Zhao.

In 2019, rumors swirled that Feng had an affair, but Feng denied the online reports and won a lawsuit which ended with a formal apology from the rumormongers last September.

On Saturday, Feng again denied domestic violence rumors and involvement in extramarital affairs through his lawyers. (SD News)
