A PEDESTRIAN street featuring shops, studios and industrial parks of local fashion brands opened in Dalang Fashion Town in Longhua District on Thursday.

The opening of the street “LANG Ave” was one of the highlights of the 2021 Dalang Fashion Industry Summit held Wednesday and Thursday.

The 700-meter pedestrian street is one of the major commercial complexes of the fashion town and is also part of a key renovation project covering Langjing Road and its surrounding areas that kicked off last June.

“LANG Ave” accommodates the factory stores of Dalang Fashion Town-based local fashion brands, including Vasino, KALTENDIN, Jessie and Danli Feler, plus several pop-up stores by guest individual designers.

Zhang Wei, a Zhuhai-based designer who graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, was invited to display some works from her fashion brand Cindy Wei Zhang Studio at one of the pop-up stores. The merchandise includes slogan T-shirts inspired by famous movie lines and commodities featuring traditional Chinese ocean culture, such as candles and keyrings made from recycled oyster or urchin shells.

“It’s my first visit to Dalang Fashion Town. I feel that this place has great atmosphere, policies and supporting facilities for a designer to start their business. I would like to meet more peer designers at the event and to think about opening my own studio here in the future,” said Zhang.

The pedestrian street also has exhibitions featuring Dalang Fashion Town’s achievements and the convergence of digital economy and fashion industry.

“Dalang Fashion Town will take advantage of the digital economy and new technologies to build itself into an eco-friendly and livable hub of the smart fashion industry,” said Liu Lei, deputy secretary of the CPC Longhua District Committee.
