IN one of your reports dated May 12 we learned that two more bicycle lanes were introduced. This is to enhance road safety as it allows pedestrians, motor vehicles and nonmotor vehicles to use separate lanes.

The lanes pictured in the article are fortunately wide enough so that faster bicycles can pass the slower ones. I noticed that some other nonmotor vehicle lanes are rather narrow and do not give much space for bicycles passing each other let alone overloaded courier bikes with packages. Also I see many cars parked at the entry/exit of these lanes, obstructing the use of these lanes.

It therefore would be appreciated if the Shenzhen government starts educating the people not to block these lanes and enforcing the rules through penalties. If we do not do this, we will waste a lot of money and make the roads only a more dangerous place.
