Six junior high students return lost valuables to owner
    2021-05-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

On May 10, a woman surnamed Wan went to Shenzhen Xinzhou Middle School in Futian District and presented pennants to six 7th graders to express her gratitude and appreciation for the students’ honesty when they returned her lost valuables and for the school’s good instruction.

These students were praised to have set a textbook example for what people are supposed to do when lost items are found.

At the school’s morning assembly on May 10, Yao Weifeng, director of the school’s department of administration, circulated a notice of commendation and called on other students to learn from them.

On May 1, the six students, You Huaxian, Li Chengcheng, Huang Junxuan, Liu Ruoqin, Huang Jiaming and Zhi Xinyu, found on a shared bike a bag with a bank card, a social security card and a large amount of cash in it, while they were walking past the intersection of 5th and 7th Xinzhou Roads in Futian District.

They waited for the owner for a long while but she didn’t show up, so the students called the police who later found the owner and returned all the lost items.

In February this year, according to the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau Futian Branch, two teenagers in Futian District also found a lost cell phone under a pedestrian footbridge and asked the police to look for the owner. (Yang Mei)
