Guanlan Central School recently held a science fair themed “Seeking the truth, embracing innovation,” during which students did experiments, created models, invented things and painted about the future world. In its 16th session, the science fair aims to cultivate in students a passion for learning science and the habit of solving problems with scientific theories. The school arranged for 12 challenges that required students to do experiments to prove theories about buoyancy and inertia. Students also learned how to make their paper planes fly farther with knowledge about resistance. And they were given the chance to observe samples of cells through a microscope. The science fair gave display of all types of inventions and imaginative paintings created by the students, such as a mini desktop vacuum cleaner, a model yacht and paintings of a flying bus and a marine life museum from the future.
