Liu Yazhi, Class 1, Senior 2, Shenzhen Foreign Languages School Instructed by Peng Chunhua This winter holiday, in response to the government’s appeal I had to stay in Shenzhen instead of going back to my hometown. Fortunately, I was able to spend more time with my family, which made this holiday unique and unforgettable. On the first 10 days of my vacation, when my parents went to work, my time was spent with my 4-year-old sister. Naturally, as a young kid, she was always running all over the house, bringing me much trouble. However, my day lit up when I saw her innocent and adorable smile. Soon came New Year’s Eve, when my family went to Xiangmi Park in Futian District to celebrate the New Year. Along the pavement were large blossoming flowers, waving in the early spring breeze and smiling to people passing by. We did enjoy ourselves there, appreciating the scenery while talking about our past and future. Not until the night fell did we leave the park. My holiday was short as I started to attend classes after the Spring Festival. Anyway, I had a great time with my family during this unique holiday. In fact, it was the pandemic that brought us closer, allowing us to savor the sweet memories of the time when we were together. |
