Futian offers 1m yuan for top design for SZ-HK zone
    2021-05-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FUTIAN District has invited professionals to submit designs for the Shenzhen section of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Zone for Science and Technology Innovation (SHCZ) at the Lok Ma Chou Loop, with top one set to receive a prize of 1 million yuan (US$156,000).

The second-prize winners, two in total, will each be rewarded 300,000 yuan and each of the three third-prize winners will be given 100,000 yuan.

The deadline for submitting the designs is June 30, 2021, the review date will be by July 6, and the winners will be announced Aug. 6, 2021. The contestants can submit their entries (both Chinese and English versions) to SZ_HK2021@163.com.

Global designers, designer groups, design institutions, teachers and students at design schools and academies, as well as individuals, teams and institutions, are all eligible for the visual identity design and landmark logo design competitions, according to the organizers SHCZ and the Publicity Department of the CPC Futian District Committee.

The organizers will invite five top masters with global influence in the industry to select the winners.

For the visual identity design, the logo should fully demonstrate the national strategic mission of SHCZ while also being in line with the theme of innovation and technology.

The landmark logo design should fully integrate the elements, including the urban positioning, regional characteristics, economic function, cultural representations, city roles and spiritual connotations of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

SHCZ covers 3.89 square kilometers and consists of 0.87 square kilometers in Hong Kong and 3.02 square kilometers in Shenzhen.

The area enjoys geographical advantages with two checkpoints, the Huanggang and Futian checkpoints.

The planning and construction of SHCZ has been listed in the country’s 14th Five Year Plan (2021-2025). The Shenzhen part of SHCZ has planned a space of 370,000 square meters for scientific research.

Over 130 cutting-edge R&D projects have established a presence in the zone, which shapes a full-process innovation ecological chain of “basic research+technological innovation+industrialization.”
