Sink one’s teeth into 全身心投入
    2021-05-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: I’m always looking for a great book to sink my teeth into. Do you have anything to recommend?

B: I’ve just read “The Earth Book” geologist and planetary scientist Jim Bell. I think it may be of interest to you. Spanning Earth’s entire history, from its birth 4.6 billion years ago to its inevitable destruction billions of years into the future, this book chronicles the life of our home planet in 250 well-chosen milestones.

Note: This idiom means “to start doing or become involved in something with one’s utmost energy, determination or enthusiasm.” This term, which began to be used figuratively in the early 1900s, alludes to an animal biting vigorously into its prey. For example: I’d like you to sink your teeth into the new project that I’m developing.
