My first special memory
    2021-06-02  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Fang Zhaorong, 3D, Shenzhen Vanke Bilingual School Instructed by Jiao Yang

My first special memory was about snow. I was born in Shenzhen, a very warm city without winter or snow.

The book says: Snow is white, beautiful, and will melt. You can make snowmen and snowballs with it. I am curious: What is the real snow like?

In order to find the answer, I visited Dalian and Shenyang in the northeast of China. There I saw the snow on the ground but not snow falling from the sky.

Hoping to see snow falling, my family went to Hokkaido, Japan, in the winter of 2019. However, when I came out of the airport, there was no snow falling at all there either.

I asked my Dad: “Where is the snow?”

Dad comforted me and said: “Be patient. Maybe it will snow tomorrow.”

But I was still very sad. In the evening, we went to the famous Ramen Street in Sapporo. The food was yummy and slightly relieved my sad mood.

The second day was New Year’s Day. In the morning, I was woken up by my Mom: “Look! It’s snowing!”

I looked out of the window: Wow, what a big snow! It was a world of white.

I couldn’t wait to run outside. The holy snow, as clear as crystal, fell on my hat, on my clothes, on my shoes, on my hands, and melted into small drops at once.

This is my story about snow, which is a very special memory to me.
