Health code required for purchasing fever reducers
    2021-06-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN’S market regulator has urged all retail pharmacies in the city to strictly implement the information registration system, recently put in place, for citizens purchasing fever reducers, Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

Retail pharmacies must require all customers to show their health codes before they can enter the store. Those with a yellow health code should be refused from entering the store and directed to see a doctor in a medical institution.

For those with a green health code, the pharmacy assistant must remind them to wear a mask and have their body temperature checked. If the body temperature is abnormal, the drugstore should ask the customer to take their temperature again.

Any fever patients found should be directed to a nearby fever clinic as soon as possible, according to regulations. Meanwhile, pharmacy assistants should strengthen personal protection, wear masks at work and wash hands frequently.

Retail drugstores that sell fever reducers on the Internet must inform customers they must get the medicine at the store and register the information of the drug purchasers, according to the requirements. The medications are not allowed to be sent through on-demand delivery service platforms.

The city’s market regulators also remind the public that, starting June 5, online retail pharmacies shall not sell fever reducers to individuals whose addresses are located in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan until the pandemic in these cities is effectively controlled.

In line with the city’s pandemic prevention and control measures, hospitals in the city have also stepped up their anti-pandemic efforts.

Those who need to see a doctor at the stomatology, otolaryngology and ophthalmology departments, or are those who need multiple follow-up visits, endoscopic examination, and any outpatient surgery requiring taking off their mask, should present a negative result of a nucleic acid test that has been conducted within 72 hours.

Patients with symptoms such as dry cough, fatigue, smell and taste loss, stuffy nose, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, muscle pain and diarrhea, should have a nucleic acid test when seeking medical treatment.

All hospitalized patients must present a negative result of a nucleic acid test that has been conducted within 72 hours.
