‘Starry Night’— the painting I like

Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most famous artists in the world. He lived only 37 years. His life was short and sad, but the paintings he drew are fantastic. In the first part of his life, he wanted to be a priest in the church. He helped many poor people. In the second part of his life, he wanted to be an artist. He drew some views, some plants and some people. In the last part of his life, he was sent to a hospital by his neighbors, because they thought the artist was crazy. He drew many famous paintings toward the end of his life.

“Starry Night” was one of the most famous works he painted. It is about a beautiful night sky in summer. There are no clouds; there is only light. There is light in the hill, from a town. There is light in the sky, from the moon and stars. The moon light is warm and peaceful. The start light is like fireworks, so bright and beautiful.

While people in the little town sleep, the stars come out. They use their big eyes to see the world. They see the ships with smoke sailing on the sea. They see the trains crossing the land quickly and noisily. Van Gogh was lonely when he drew this painting. Maybe, he wanted the stars and the moon to stay with him.

I like the painting because it is earthy but beautiful. It tells me a story of the “madman” Van Gogh’s lonely trip. He came to the world and then left. When he was alive, everyone disliked him, but he still kept drawing and drawing. He was as brave and great as his works.
