Lecture held on interconnection between reading and writing
    2021-07-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A lecture on the interconnection between students’ reading and writing was held on July 11 in Shenzhen Book City Longgang Store. The fourth of the “Reading With Star Teachers” event series, the lecture was hosted by Shenzhen Publishing Group.

The speaker of the lecture was Liu Bo, an outstanding young teacher from Shenzhen Baihe Foreign Language School in Longgang District whose demonstration lessons won a special prize at a city-level contest. With vivid examples, Liu illustrated how reading and writing are interconnected and feed on each other.

She also shared with participating parents and students the importance of edutainment and discussed with them how to help students form better writing habits. Her inspiring speech won several waves of applause from the audience.

The “Reading With Star Teachers” events are organized by the members’ affairs department of Shenzhen Publishing Group with support from many of Shenzhen’s best schools. The events invite education experts, scholars and outstanding teachers to give lectures on topics related to reading and share with parents and students the joy of reading. More events of the series will be rolled out across the city in the six Shenzhen Book City branches in the upcoming months. (Yu Yuanfan)
