SHENZHEN residents have embraced sanfu, also known as China’s “dog days,” a period of particularly hot and humid summer days. Sanfu, divided into three time periods, will last 40 days until Aug. 19. On Tuesday, the city recorded a high temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius, the second highest in this year, according to Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory. Despite the scorching weather, construction workers still kept working on Metro Line 14’s Buji Station and the Binhai Boulevard renovation project near Shenzhen Bay Headquarters Base. So far, 14 out of Metro Line 14’s 18 stations have been topped off. The 50.3-kilometer line will connect Futian, Longgang and Pingshan districts. Construction on the main section of the 5.95-kilometer Binhai Boulevard renovation project started recently. Upon completion, the headquarters base will be connected to Shenzhen Bay Park, with part of the boulevard going underground. (SD News) |
