A total of 34 families hiked across Shenzhen’s urban central axis in Futian District over the weekend. The hiking journey, whose route is about 2.5 km, began at the Wongtee Plaza in the Futian Central Business District (CBD) and ended at Lianhua Hill Park. Hiking is one of the family-oriented events hosted by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Futian District, and organized by the Futian Library over the summer vacation, encouraging children and their parents to better understand the history and culture of Futian District through taking tours to the landmarks across the district and reading relevant books. During the event, families visited the Civic Center, Civic Square, the terrace of Shenzhen Book City CBD Store and other landmark buildings in Futian District. Children also wrote and painted what they had seen and heard along the way and after the hike shared their creations with each other at Lianhua Hill Park. The events enriched children’s vacation life, as well as enhanced their communications with parents. (Lin Rujun) |
