Smart Medicine Summer Camp held for students
    2021-07-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The Smart Medicine Summer Camp was held at the Southern University of Science and Technology Hospital on July 19. Sixty primary and secondary school students in Shenzhen enjoyed a series of in-depth experience sessions in the week-long camp, including using medical appliances integrated with virtual reality technology, visiting and coloring 3D printed models, and learning first aid knowledge and skills.

In the use of medical appliances session, students put on AR glasses and were shown three-dimensional images of human anatomy. With games involved in the session, students not only developed their imagination and creativity but also had fun.

To expand their understanding on clinical applications of 3D printing, students learned how to print different kinds of human bone models with 3D printers and colored the models under the guidance of doctors. Also, accessible first aid training was offered to students in the camp, which enabled them to master first aid skills and knowledge, such as trauma care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
