Futian adopts one-stop booking for sports and cultural facilities
    2021-08-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FUTIAN District has adopted a one-stop reservation platform to further facilitate cultural and sports facility bookings in the district, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

With the platform being put into use, citizens can make reservations for sporting facilities within the district’s 57 primary and secondary schools free of charge in addition to other public ones.

The sporting facilities of the 57 primary and secondary schools include 47 athletic fields, 33 soccer fields, 108 basketball courts, 131 badminton courts and 71 table tennis tables.

The outdoor sporting facilities of another 20 schools will be opened to the public after the start of the new semester this fall.

The platform is accessible through following the “幸福福田” (happyfutian) WeChat account by choosing “福田文体通” found at the bottom of the screen. For those who have yet to follow the account, the platform is accessible via the service section found on the upper right corner of the screen.

After login, citizens can choose the facilities according to sports, reservation date, time, site number, remaining slots available and information on dates providing free service.

After entering some personal information, the system will immediately inform the user that the reservation is successful and will send a QR code, which serves as admission to enter the facilities.

In recent years, eight district-level public stadiums and gymnasiums in Futian, including Futian Sports Park, Huangmugang Tennis Center and the sports center in Xiangmi Park, have been opened to citizens free of charge for 40 specific days throughout the year, while some privately run sporting facilities have been opened to the public at low prices.

In 2020 alone, the district’s free-ticket policy in public stadiums and gymnasiums benefited nearly 300,000 people, according to the Daily.
