LUOHU District ranked eighth in the “2021 China’s Top 100 Counties and Cities with prosperous Nighttime Economy” with a score of 93.91 and was the only urban area in Shenzhen to be in the list, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The nighttime economy refers to business activities from 6 p.m and 6 a.m. in the service sector, including shopping, dining, night tours, entertainment, learning, film and television, and leisure.

Luohu District has introduced plans to boost its nighttime economy, including building itself into a nighttime economic hub in the Greater Bay Area.

Multiple nighttime landmarks and business areas have been designated throughout the district for night tours, shopping, and other activities, which are expected to be featured as influential nighttime economic clusters.
