Artist shines ‘Rainbow’ of hope to world from Dunhuang
    2021-08-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN artist has demonstrated her newly created Rainbow performance art in Dunhuang of Gansu Province on Sunday, dedicating the work to all those places around the world suffering from floods.

Wearing a rainbow-themed costume composed of several large rainbow-colored semicircle inflatable cushions, Beijing-based artist Kong Ning staged the performance art in the desert of Dunhuang.

As many places in the world have suffered from floods recently, Kong says, “The art is for the world. I hope that after the heavy rain, there will be rainbows, and people can get back to normal life.”

Besides, Kong said that a rainbow is like a bridge of hope. She hopes that people around the globe can walk across this bridge to express love for each other, to fight against the pandemic together, and to work hand in hand to build a better future for humans and nature.

The performance art is part of her “Little Blue Man” project, in which she plans to walk through over 150 countries to promote her environmentally friendly green values. (China Daily)
