CHINA Southern Airlines, a member of SkyTeam, ranked first in Asia and second in the world in passenger traffic in 2020, according to the World Air Transport Statistics recently released by the International Air Transport Association.

In 2020, safety flights of the company hit 2.07 million hours, taking the lead among Chinese aviation companies; punctuality was 89.88 percent, up by 6.56 percentage points over the previous year, and 1.36 percent higher than the industry average.

The company put 19,000 flights in operation in 2020 and carried 25,000 medical workers and 29,000 tons of anti-COVID-19 supplies. It also brought 24,000 compatriots from overseas. It was rated as a seven-star COVID-19 prevention and control airline company by global airline safety and product rating review website, www.airlineratings.com.

China Southern Airlines operates more than 750 passenger and cargo transport aircraft, the largest fleet in Asia and the fourth-largest in the world. It is the first airline in the world to operate both Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 planes.

It operates more than 2,000 daily flights to 224 destinations in 40 countries and regions across the world.
