A TOTAL of 50 photos featuring life in Shenzhen through the lens of expat photographers have been exhibited around the world since June. The photo exhibition series has been a hit overseas with almost 10,000 visitors and over 180,000 online views as of July 5.

The photo collection has been showed so far in six countries — Egypt, Thailand, Nigeria, India, Ghana and Kenya — with established liaison offices of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee (CCPIT Shenzhen). The exhibitions have also been widely covered by media outlets and social media to spread Shenzhen’s charm to the world.

The 50 photographs exhibited were selected from the winning works in the 2nd Expats Eye Shenzhen Photo Contest hosted by the Information Office of Shenzhen Municipal Government and organized by EYESHENZHEN.com and Shenzhen Daily.

CCPIT Shenzhen partnered with Shenzhen Daily to hold the photo exhibition’s international tour in a bid to showcase the achievements of the reform and opening-up policies and further improve the city’s international influence. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic physically impeding cross-border communication, the cultural exchange between Shenzhen and foreign countries is still booming.

Foreign visitors enjoyed and appreciated the photos depicting China’s technology hub and they were stunned by the transformation of one of China’s megacities within four decades.

In order to help Shenzhen companies go global, the event has objectively and vividly showcased the city’s image. The photo exhibition series is a window to Shenzhen, showing the city as a perfect choice for foreign-invested enterprises.

The next stops of the photo exhibition tour will be Tanzania and Mexico.
