SHENZHEN Poly Theater recently founded a junior ballet troupe, aiming to train next-generation ballet dancers and popularize this performance art.

Cao Jinrong, renowned ballet educator and former principal of the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy, is a consultant for the troupe. Gong Yiwen, a previous dancer of Hong Kong Ballet and a certified teacher with the U.K.’s Royal Academy of Dance who has acquired a Professional Dancers’ Teaching Diploma, will be head of the troupe. Lin Shusen, chairman of the Shenzhen Dancers Association, and Zhang Lingling, founder of Nanshan District Students’ Ballet Troupe, will be guest directors of the newly founded troupe.

All teachers of the Poly’s junior ballet troupe are graduates from prestigious academies at home and abroad who majored in ballet. The troupe will combine training with rehearsing and performing, arranging opportunities for its members to participate in commercial shows and tours, as well as public benefit events. The troupe will also arrange for excellent members to participate in national and international competitions.

Those interested can apply to join the troupe by following the official WeChat account “深圳保利剧院艺教中心.”
