Ji-wan Nam Global Economic News SOUTH KOREA’S POSCO said Tuesday that the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association recently certified its magnesium-aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheets as a suitable material that can be used to manufacture stabilizers in the Chinese construction industry. The stabilizer is a steel material that supports building structure and prevents equipment and piping from falling off the building in case of earthquakes. The magnesium-aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet is the material that is plated with three alloy materials, zinc, magnesium and aluminum on hot or cold rolled steel sheet to prevent corrosion, and has strong corrosion resistance. It is produced in Japan and European countries and POSCO’s PosMac product is also the magnesium-aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet. Since Sichuan earthquake in 2008, China’s government mandated the application of stabilizers to buildings, and currently stabilizers have been used in all buildings since 2019. |
