A ZAMBIAN pastor has died after he attempted to recreate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and was left tied up and buried underground for three days. James Sakara, the pastor of the Zion church in Chadiza, Zambia, convinced his congregation that he could resurrect in three days like Jesus Christ and requested them to bury him beneath the earth. The 22-year-old was then found dead when he was dug back up three days later. Sakara convinced three church members to assist in his “resurrection” by helping him dig a grave. Before attempting the resurrection, he quoted from the Bible and explained that Christ’s instruction to his disciples to “do this in remembrance of me” actually referred to his resurrection, not just the use of bread and wine at Holy Communion. When the pastor’s congregation returned to the site to dig him back up, they discovered his lifeless body and attempted to conduct spiritual rituals to bring him back to life. But when his body remained lifeless, his loyal followers realized his attempt to recreate Jesus’ resurrection had proved fruitless. One of the three church members who volunteered to assist the pastor with the experiment has handed himself in to the police. The other two assistants are still wanted and are believed to be on the run from cops. (SD-Agencies) |
