ABBA Voyage

Actress fined

Chinese actress Zheng Shuang now must pay 299 million yuan (US$46.1 million) in tax, fine and late fee for tax evasion. Shanghai’s taxation authorities said that Zheng failed to declare 191 million yuan in salary in 2019 and 2020, resulting in a tax evasion of 48 million yuan and a further 26.5 million yuan in underpaid taxes.

Gyllenhaal’s new role

Jake Gyllenhaal will star in an adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic book, “Oblivion Song.” The comic takes place a decade after 300,000 citizens of Philadelphia were suddenly lost in a cataclysmic event named Oblivion.

Doja Cat to host VMAs

The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) show has its host: Doja Cat will preside over the ceremonies, set to be broadcast from Barclays Center on September 12. Taylor Swift joins TikTok

Taylor Swift recently posted her first TikTok and of course her fans went wild. The singer took to the social media platform to promote the vinyl edition of the upcoming release of the re-recording of “Red,” currently available for presale. The updated version of “Red,” titled “Red (Taylor’s Version),” will be released on November 19 and features 30 songs.

TV ends contract with host

Hunan Satellite TV, one of the most-watched broadcasters in China, has ended the contract with its variety show host Qian Feng after a woman accused him of raping her two years ago. Qian is the second celebrity to be accused of rape after pop star Kris Wu, who was arrested last month.
