He Xiangning Art Museum

Masterpieces collected by patriotic entrepreneur Liao Anxiang (1907-1997) are on display with historical documents and photos related to the 1941 rescue of 800 patriotic intellectuals during the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The exhibition runs until Sept. 15. Another exhibition, running until Oct. 10, showcases paintings created by painters in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Monet art

Replicas of Claude Monet’s paintings collected by the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in the United States are on display at the “Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Pop-up Store in the Sky” exhibition (200 yuan) until Dec. 15. The exhibition also installs recreated scenes inspired by Monet’s paintings, such as “Haystacks” and “Water Lilies,” aiming to offer visitors a multi-sensory and interactive way to enjoy art.

Pets Rock

Toys and installations of Pets Rock’s characters are on display until Oct. 7. The characters are a group of anthropomorphic animals dressed as human icons, so you will see a graceful cat dressed like Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” a feline Marilyn Monroe in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and a guinea pig dressed like Queen Elizabeth II.

Shenzhen Museum

At the “Horizons: The Evolution of Astronomical Observations” exhibition running until Sept. 12, visitors can admire the 100-gram lunar soil, more than 40 antique telescopes, reproductions of armillary spheres, as well as items from modern space exploration. Meanwhile, botanical scientific illustrations and herbariums from the Tianjin Natural History Museum are also on display until Nov. 7. And old photos recording Shenzhen’s development in the past four decades are on display until Oct. 10.
