THE city’s foreign trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in July reached 61.5 billion yuan (US$9.52 billion), up by 13.8 percent year on year, Shenzhen Customs said.

It is a nine-month straight positive growth since November last year, customs officials said.

Between January and July, trade with the BRI countries reached 413.12 billion yuan, up by 16.1 percent.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) remains the city’s major trading partner and biggest partner under the BRI. In July, its trade with ASEAN countries reached 42.86 billion yuan, up by 14.9 percent year on year, accounting for nearly 70 percent of the total trade under the BRI.

Exports of Skyworth Group’s LCDs kept rising and the products had been exported to more than 80 countries and regions. According to Liu Tangzhi, president of Skyworth Group, exports to ASEAN countries like Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam were exceptionally well.
