HITSZ professor shortlisted for international award
    2021-09-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

WANG XU, a professor with the School of Civil Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ), was shortlisted for Nature Research Awards for Driving Global Impact this year, said HITSZ.

The awards have shortlisted a total of eight young scientists from China, Pakistan, the U.S., the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

Wang is one of the two shortlisted Chinese candidates and the only one from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Wang, who joined HITSZ this year, focuses his research on water pollution control and recycling resources, and has achieved innovative results in water system building and smart control for green and low-carbon cities.

This year’s award highlights global challenges in food, water and energy safety, health intervention, environmental protection, climate change and sustainable cities.

The award, jointly launched by Springer Nature and Tencent in 2018, aims to celebrate early-career researchers whose work has the potential to make or has made a positive impact on global challenges.
