How AI changes the human world

In today’s society, people’s lives are changing quickly. I often hear some old people say that our life is much more convenient than in the past because we have diverse kinds of ways of learning and entertainment. In my view, this is only the beginning; the changes that new technology has brought to our lives will subvert our imagination due to the rapid social development and constant innovation of technology.

Just as what I want to discuss about today, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a most incredible technology the scientists has developed. So how could this technology change our life?

Let’s look at the changes that have already happened. Some internet enterprises have used an algorithm to substitute for the jobs of actuaries, bond traders and doctors’ assistants. Besides, AI enables the word to get digitized. Machines can identify our faces, QR codes and even the voices around us.

When AI is applied in computer chips, it can calculate complex messages. For instance, the speaker system that my father uses also has an AI linguistic system installed, which can respond to the owner’s questions and demonstrates strong computing ability. Meanwhile, an increasing number of physical jobs have been gradually replaced by machines. In recent years, scientists are exploring more applications of AI technologies, including facial recognition and self-driving cars.

Although AI is an emerging technology with approximately only 70 years of history, everyone in this society is influenced by this new technology. The development speed for this technology is fabulously faster than people thought.

I believe that in the future, the world situation will change because of this technology.

Kai-Fu Lee, who was a vice president of Google as well as an expert of AI, once inferred that 40 percent of the world’s jobs will be replaced by robots capable of automating tasks. Witnessing the changes brought by AI to the human world, I feel it essential to study hard and make a contribution to the research and development of AI in the future.
