Recycling rate

SHENZHEN’S household waste recycling rate has reached 45 percent, according to a law enforcement inspection conducted by the city’s legislature.

Statistics showed that the city’s daily average classified recovery of recyclables, hazardous waste and kitchen waste has increased by 34.3 percent, 28.2 percent and 90.4 percent, respectively. The average daily disposal of other waste has decreased by 6.1 percent.

Train ticket sale

TRAIN tickets for the National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to 7 are officially available for sale Friday.

The railway department reminded travelers that the tickets’ presale period is 15 days. Travelers are also advised to keep abreast of their departure and arrival destinations’ COVID-19 prevention and control policies and make reasonable trip arrangements.

Metro train intervals

THE train intervals of Metro Line 1 will be shortened to 2 minutes during morning rush hours of working days starting from Saturday.

Under the new schedule, the operator will adopt “big circular plus small circular” operation mode, which means that for every three trains, two trains operate between Luohu and Airport East (big circular), and one train operates between Luohu and Xixiang (small circular).

The train intervals between Luohu and Xixiang will be shortened to 2 minutes, while trains running between Luohu and Airport East will be adjusted at intervals of 2 and 4 minutes.

Meat smuggling

FOLLOWING a tip-off, the Nanshan Inspection Station of the Shenzhen Coast Guard Bureau seized 110 tons of smuggled frozen meat and an unclaimed vessel recently.
