SHENZHEN MSU-BIT University (SMBU) will hold 27 events themed “Impression Russia” during the 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), which will open tomorrow and last until Monday.

According to SMBU, they are the only university among the 67 subvenues across the city for the cultural fair.

The 27 events, divided in 12 sections, will allow visitors to have an immersive experience with Russian culture.

An art exhibition will be held to showcase more than 160 Russian oil paintings, together with 35 Chinese calligraphy works given by three academicians from top Chinese universities.

During the fair, students and teachers from Shenzhen Arts School will be invited to stage classic Chinese and Russian musical pieces. SMBU libray will host a rare Russian book collection show.

Visitors at the SMBU subvenue can also enjoy exquisite local Chinese and Russian food and snacks, buy cultural products, watch classic Russian movies, and attend poetry-featured lectures.

Likewise, SMBU will hold an international chess game and chess-related lectures. Chinese chess players, including Ye Jiangchuan, Wang Linna and Zhao Xue, will be present for the event.

It is worth noticing that SMBU will be joining forces with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) in launching an online subvenue for those who cannot visit the event in person.

Interested residents who wish to attend these events can make a reservation via SMBU’s official WeChat account (SMBU2017).
