AN information session on subsidies for overseas talents and enterprises was held in KK100 Service Center in Guiyuan Subdistrict, Luohu District on Friday, attracting over 30 overseas talents and international companies’ representatives in the district.

The event was jointly hosted by Luohu District’s foreign affairs, talent affairs, human resources and taxation bureaus. It mainly focused on preferential individual income tax policies and international services for overseas high-end talents and urgently needed talents who work in Luohu.

Officials from the district’s human resources bureau, as well as the taxation bureau, introduced tax preference application procedures for 2020, illustrated details on tax declaration, calculation and subsidies, and answered inquiries for subsidy data and calculation.

Representatives of international companies attending the session also learned about the latest information on Luohu’s business environment. During the session, an official from Luohu’s talent affairs bureau explained how to identify high-quality talents.

During the Q&A portion, participants asked about overseas social insurance recognition for Hong Kong residents and expats, individual income tax calculation methods and talent identification validity period.

Chen Ping, human resources manager of semiconductor company WINGTECH, said that the information session has provided them “a comprehensive and clear interpretation of problems that we put an eye on.”

“Luohu’s efforts in internationalization construction are beneficial to our company attracting and retaining high-level talents and for our business to reach a higher level,” Chen said.
