Rita Ding, G10, RDF International School Many teenagers are anxious about how to select absorbing books to broaden their horizons. Today I want to recommend the series of “Harry Potter” books. These books have accompanied me for five years, and have enlightened me a lot. What fascinates me most in the “Harry Potter” books are the interesting plots and vivid characters. Potter is a brave and kind boy. Since his parents had passed away due to Lord Voldemort when he was a young child, he had to live with his uncle and aunt but suffered from their discrimination and bullying for a long time. When he started school life in Hogwarts, a beautiful magic castle, he made new friends and revealed his talents. In this new life, he became fond of magic. Every book in the series describes different dilemmas Potter met and how brave he was to overcome the dilemmas. There were a lot of surprising and odd preludes in these novels, and we could not guess the plot of the next chapter. It’s amazing to find that the problem you thought couldn’t be solved anymore is solved in next chapter. So by immersing yourself in books, you will never lack surprises and excitement. Additionally, I appreciate his friendship between Ron and Hermione. For instance, the first book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” shows us how precious their friendship was. To kill Voldemort and protect the Philosopher’s Stone, Potter needed to overcome a number of difficulties. Too dangerous as it was for a grade one student, Ron and Hermione rushed to help him get rid of Voldemort and successfully keep the Philosopher’s Stone. They only had known each other for one year but their companionship was stable and deep. They all loved each other and cared about each other very much. In conclusion, the “Harry Potter” books are truly a wonderful and intriguing series that deserves a comprehensive reading by everyone. “Harry Potter” has been instilled in every reader’s mind and I consider it a classic that will bring an unforgettable memory to your adolescence. |
