Tariff reduction

SHENZHEN Customs has helped local exporters enjoy 1.6 billion yuan (US$248 million) in tariff reductions and exemptions from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries through issuing Certificates of Origin, which local enterprises can apply for.

ASEAN is Shenzhen’s largest trading partner, with 112,000 Certificates of Origin issued for 31.8 billion yuan worth of goods in the January-August period, up by 46.86 percent 54.28 percent, respectively.

Wutong rescue

LUOHU police said it had carried out rescue work for over 700 tourists, who were trapped in Wutong Mountain due to a sudden downpour Monday noon. All trapped tourists were then escorted down safe and sound by policemen.

Police remind that citizens should plan their routes and schedules in advance and call police in case of emergencies.
