CULTURE and travel enthusiasts will certainly not be disappointed at the ongoing 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), as a myriad of innovative and well-developed cultural tourism projects are on display at the annual cultural extravaganza.

The five-day cultural fair, which officially kicked off at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District on Thursday, has put a spotlight on demonstrating new achievements in the integrated development of tourism and enhancing the publicity for creative cultural products and tourism commodities.

Domestic and foreign exhibitors have been encouraged to display high-quality cultural tourism routes and projects, and promote new cultural tourism programs integrating cultural creativity, vacation and leisure.

Overseas Chinese Town Holdings Co. (OCT Group), for instance, is participating in the ICIF in the form of “1+1+7” this year. It has set up two separate booths at the main venue, with one in Hall 10 and the other in Hall 12.

Meanwhile, seven subvenues have been concurrently set up across the city including places like OCT-LOFT, Gankeng Hakka Town, Dapeng Fortress, Splendid China • Folk Culture Villages, Window of the World, OCT Harbor and Happy Valley.

According to OCT Group, its cultural activities with distinctive themes and highlights in seven subvenues represent the company’s 36 years of efforts in increasing its presence in the country’s prospering cultural industry.

Relying on its more than 90 scenic spots and open tourist areas operated and managed throughout the country, the industry leader said it has cultivated new business models such as culture-themed scenic spots, cultural performances and cultural tourism technology to meet the growing domestic demand and unleash the market consumption potential.

Sunac China Holdings Ltd., a Chinese developer who has been expanding its cultural tourism services, also displays its latest snow resort project in Hall 12 or the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Hall.

“The snow resort project, located near the world exhibition and convention center, aims to create a complex integrating film and television culture, headquarters office, characteristic business, high-end residences, family vacations, leisure and entertainment,” said Li Rang-lian, senior market manager of Sunac China.
